The drama mural of the Yuan Dynasty is the only large-scale drama mural of the Yuan Dynasty found in China at present. It is a rare material to study the development history of Chinese drama and stage art, and is praised as another masterpiece of Guangsheng.
The picture shows the scene of a Sanle class performing on the stage. Horizontal signs shall be hung above the table top, and the table top shall be paved with square bricks. There were 11 actors on the stage, including 7 male and 4 female actors, standing in front and back rows. Because of the different costumes and facial makeup, people can distinguish the birth, Dan, Jing, Mo, ugly and happy people at a glance. The leader in the middle of the front row is zhongduxiu, the foreman. Judging from her quiet face, meticulous face and small cherry mouth, the leader is a woman. However, she wears a red robe and an official hat. The role she plays is not a female character. This also shows that men and women perform on the same stage, and the art of women disguised as men has become popular in the mid Yuan Dynasty; Next to the right side of Zhongdu show is the ugly character. He has a beard and dances. It seems that it is his turn to speak or sing, so the other actors are communicating with him. A female Dan character with good make-up lifted up the side curtain strip on the east side of the upper court gate and looked out, which further reflected the authenticity of real life. Other actors on the stage hold their own props for performance: Palace fans, wat boards, knives, etc. are all dramatized after artistic processing; There are two male and one female performers on the stage with the actors. The drummer is close to the east entrance, and the flute player is in the middle of the back row. They are all male faces; The clapper Juxi is at the left rear of the foreman zhongduxiu and is female. This form of accompaniment with drum, flute and clapper provides visual materials for the study of the development of Chinese drama instruments. In terms of the whole stage layout and orientation, the picture also provides exploratory materials for the study of the development and evolution of the drama stage before the Yuan Dynasty.Key words:- stage
